Every one is built to order behind the counter: chorizo, Serrano, Manchego, calamari, and a few named after people round here.
We opened on Dynevor Street in September 2025. Monday to Saturday, 9am to 3.30pm.

La Bocata opened on Dynevor Street in September 2025, a Spanish sandwich shop in Merthyr Tydfil. Nothing sits waiting on a shelf. It is built when you order it, wrapped, and handed over.
The sandwiches are split three ways. Bocatas de España are the originals, built on chorizo, Serrano, Manchego and calamari. Bocatas de Hogar are named after the people and places round here. Bocatas del Mundo go everywhere else, from a Philly steak to southern fried chicken with Cajun sauce.
Build Your Own takes up to two meats. Savouries, the pasties and pastries, are pre-order only, so give us a ring. If you have an allergy, tell us before you order and we will talk you through it.

Absolutely fabulous place highly recommended. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Sandwiches are so nice and filling. I went for their Philly Steak. The blue cheese sauce just makes it extra special.
